NYE 2010 inspired..

I went shopping last night for my NYE dress with makeup in mind. I want to wear something simple yet cute so  my makeup can be a bit dramatic, this year I want to ring in the new year glamored up with a  fun, festive &  hint of a dramatic look . So I decide on Silver, glitter, smoky-eye using a shade of dark blue & some fabulous lashes,  this is what I came up with..

Colors used to perfect this look are:

(left to right)
Primer- Soft Ochre

Under the brow-Brule
Crease- Contrast
Eyelid- Silver ring with Nylon on top (together)
Outer corner of eyes- Nehru
Eyelid- apply Sephora's silver glitter liner all over eyelid for a sparkle affect.

After applying eyeshadow apply black eyeliner pencil & smug on eyelid & under the eyes, Then apply eyelashes ( Cherry Red lashes #47) touch up eyeliner after applying eyelashes if necessary.

If you're on a budget you can purchase this silver & gray eyeshadow at sally's beauty supply store for $7 works great.

Have a Happy & Blessed New YEAR!!! :D

Makeup Brushes

Here are my tools for perfecting my makeup looks. Most of the brushes are M.A.C professional brushes, I’ve had my set for a few years now. They’re a bit pricey but worth every penny. You can purchase brushes that work good and can be bought at Target or any beauty supply store for a cheaper price. I bought a few of them myself and they work just as good.

Eye brushes

Eyeshadow Primer

First thing’s first, before applying eyeshadow, apply a primer. You can simply apply it all over the eyelid using a brush or using your ring finger. This will help your eyeshadow last longer, prevents eyelids from creasing due to natural oils and help eyeshadow colors become more vibrant. There are plenty of primers to choose from, I’ve tried a few but nothing beats M.A.C primers, I absolutely love them!

*My personal favorite primers are:

Prep + Prime eye
Soft Ochre paint pot  (medium)
Delft paint pot
R.S.V.P Creaseless cream shadow/ liner

Prep + Prime eye & Soft Ochre paint pot- can be used with all colors. I wear this ALL the time, not just only when I go out.

Delft paint pot - Love this product! this primer is for all those pretty darker shades of shimmery  blues, greens, grays, & purples. This primer really helps the colors become more vibrant. So pretty!

R.S.V.P Creaseless cream shadow/ liner – This one’s by Benefit I received a sample of it & I love it as well, it’s three in one, I use it as a primer for certain eyeshadows, mainly eyeshadows with sparkles & that are hard to stay on. ( I love free samples!)

Daily Moisturizer

Have you seen changes in you skin lately? is it not glowing or feeling as it has been in the past? do you see changes in hydration?

I sure have! That means winter is here and  by now we should  all have invested in a daily moisturizer that will nurture the skin, help keep it looking young and  healthy. Especially when it comes to the face. So if you haven't by now, make a trip to your local drug or department store and invest in a product that works best for your skin. Don't forget to purchase a moisturizer with SPF!

I've invested in Aveeno  Positively Radiant daily moisturizer with SPF 15. I have Normal to oily skin, this product works well &  it's affordable.  I like the way it moisturizes without making my face extra oily.( you can purchase this moisturizer at your local drug store)

This product is Oil-free &  Hypoallergenic.

*Moisturizing before applying makeup is important to help smooth the face &  give it that radiant glow, it also helps set foundations & powders*
